New Delhi: Several schools in Delhi received bomb threats, reportedly written in Punjabi, via email Tuesday. The message claimed courts and police stations across the capital would be targeted, prompting immediate security checks and searches at the threatened premises.The emails, received at 10.17 am by Air Force Bal Bharati School, Carmel Convent School and The British School, among others, had the subject line: “B00000M|B New Delhi Schools @ 1:11PM.” The text warned parents not to let their kids use Delhi metro until Sept 29, stating every police station in the capital would be targeted.The email further threatened court premises, stating, “Bombs will be planted in scooters parked in the court premises.”Following the threats, Delhi Police deployed bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units to conduct thorough searches of these premises. Multiple fire tenders and ambulances were kept on standby as a precautionary measure. Personnel from the bomb detection and disposal squads scanned the area using specialised equipment for any possible explosive devices.Police personnel were also deployed to manage crowds of concerned parents and maintain security around the schools.
