Mumbai: In a move to ensure safety, dignity, and convenience for women passengers, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyota Kirloskar Motor to set up 125 ‘Hirkani Kaksh’ or dedicated lactation pods across state bus stations.The initiative focuses on providing nursing mothers with a clean, secure, and private space while travelling. Funded entirely through Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s CSR initiative, each prefabricated unit, approximately 3m × 3m, will come fully equipped with furniture, electrical fittings, and child-care provisions.Key Highlights of the project: Three-Year Phased Rollout: 50 pods in 2026–27, 50 in 2027–28, and 25 in 2028–29.
