Kolkata: The teams set up by the Bengal govt to map unrecognised madrasas in 12 districts submitted its report to the minority affairs and madrasa education department on Wednesday.“The teams have recommended a detailed probe into the sources of funding,” according to a senior official.The official added: “Financial support (to these institutions) comes not only from locals but also from various organisations. They (the teams) suggested that specialised agencies be engaged to trace and verify the flow of funds.”The report points out that most of these unrecognised or ‘Khariji’ madrasas are located within a five-kilometre radius of the India-Bangladesh border.
