Margao: Noted Konkani writer and translator Snehalata Bhatikar passed away after a brief illness. She was 85.A well-known figure in Konkani literary circles, Bhatikar made significant contributions to literary translation. Her work earned her the Goa Konkani Akademi Award for translation, besides several other honours from the Konkani Bhasha Mandal and other literary bodies.Bhatikar held a postgraduate degree in social work from the Christian Medical College, Vellore, and worked as a psychological counsellor.She was the wife of former IAS officer and writer Arvind Bhatikar. The Konkani Bhasha Mandal and the All India Konkani Parishad have condoled her demise.
