Margao: Luiza Fernandes, who had eluded Margao police for six days after the abduction of her husband Sanjeel Kudchadkar, was arrested on Wednesday. She was traced to Karwar and brought to Margao, where she was formally taken into custody.Police said Fernandes had been admitted to a civil hospital in Karwar and was kept under watch. She was detained as soon as she was discharged and was thereafter brought to Margao for arrest.Kudchadkar had been abducted in broad daylight from Comba on July 24. CCTV footage of the abduction, which showed a woman along with two men forcing him into a car, went viral on social media platforms, after which his 20-year-old daughter lodged a police complaint.Police had, the same day, picked up two persons, Nasir bin Masood and Shah Ali Saudagar, from Karwar, and rescued Kudchadkar. The car used in the abduction was also seized.Police said Fernandes was the main conspirator behind the abduction, even as the motive remains under investigation.
