Chennai: One of three youths riding on the same bike was killed, and the other two injured, after crashing into a road median on the Tambaram–Maduravoyal Bypass Road near Vanagaram in the early hours of Monday. Police said they were drunk and not wearing helmets while speeding on the stretch.Police identified the deceased as Nithish Kumar, 23, and the two injured as Lalith Kumar, 21, and Sanjay, 24. All are natives of Kancheepuram, and were staying at Mogappair and running a roadside eatery.Lalith was riding the motorcycle towards Porur, and lost control when they reached Odam Nagar near Vanagaram. They hit the median and were thrown off the bike in the impact. Nithish died on the spot.On information, personnel from the Maduravoyal traffic investigation wing rushed to the scene. Nithish’s body was sent for postmortem, while the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
