National Lok Adalat postponed to Oct 10 in Delhi; traffic violators can download challan slips from Oct 5

New Delhi: National Lok Adalat scheduled for Sept 12, has been postponed to Oct 10, according to a notification issued by Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA). The decision follows a Delhi High Court notification declaring Sept 12, the second Saturday, as a court sitting day.The Lok Adalat will now be held on Oct 10 across Delhi’s district court complexes, including Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka and Rouse Avenue. It will also be organised at Delhi High Court, Debt Recovery Tribunals, Permanent Lok Adalats and consumer dispute redressal commissions.The notification said the Lok Adalat will facilitate the amicable settlement of civil and criminal compoundable cases. Litigants and parties have been advised to approach the concerned court, forum or tribunal at the earliest for listing of their cases. In pre-litigation matters, applications can be moved before the office of the member secretary at least seven days before the Lok Adalat.For traffic violators, there is a separate window. DSLSA said compoundable traffic challans pending on the virtual court portal up to June 30, 2026, will be taken up. Challan slips for such cases can be downloaded directly from Delhi Traffic Police website from Oct 5 at 10am onwards.However, the downloading facility will be subject to a daily cap of 50,000 challans, with an overall limit of two lakh challans. The notification advised the concerned courts, forums, tribunals and stakeholders to inform litigants and parties of the revised schedule.
