Kolkata: EC has appointed general and police observers for Nandigram and Rejinagar bypolls. While Harshal Pancholi, an IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the general observer for Rejinagar, Tripura-cadre IAS officer Santosh Das will be the general observer for Nandigram. IPS officers Hari Lal Chouhan and MB Boralingaiah of Jharkhand and Karnataka cadres have been appointed as police observers for Rejinagar and Nandigram, respectively.
