Pune: Three youths barged into a shop in Pimpri market on Sunday evening, assaulted the owner and robbed him of Rs 30,000.Pimpri police have detained a 16-year-old minor using CCTV footage. His two accomplices are absconding. The 21-year-old shop owner lodged a complaint.Pimpri police officer said, “It occurred around 4.30pm. The complainant was attending to a woman customer when the three youths, brandishing sharp weapons, threatened the owner and demanded extortion money. When the owner refused, they created a ruckus.. One of them took away Rs 30,000 ifrom the cash counter and some other material.”“One of the accused assaulted the owner, causing injuries to his left hand. The panicked customer ran out of the shop. When the complainant raised an alarm, the neighbouring shopkeepers rushed to help, the trio threatened them with the sharp weapons and fled. The terrified shopkeepers downed their shutters after the incident,” the officer said.Assistant Police Inspector Anil Lohar said, “We have taken an accused into custody. His two accomplices, who are also minors, are on the run with the stolen cash. We will detain them soon.”
