New Delhi: Two students were rescued after a fire broke out in a building housing a leather shoe godown and a paying guest accommodation in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh Wednesday.According to Delhi Fire Service (DFS), a call regarding the blaze was received around 11am. Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot.The fire broke out in a godown operating on the first and second floors of the four-storeyed building, while the third floor was being used as a PG accommodation. The rescue teams safely evacuated two students staying in the PG. One of them was taken to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, officials said.By 12.20pm, the fire had been brought under control, according to DFS.Police said personnel from Karol Bagh police station reached the spot and coordinated with the fire department during the operation.The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage, and no fatalities have been reported so far.
