New Delhi: An unidentified person allegedly robbed an 88-year-old man of Rs 80,000 outside his house in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh Wednesday. A case has been registered.The complainant, a resident of Shyam Vihar Phase 2, told police that he had gone to a bank near Najafgarh around 11 am to withdraw cash. He withdrew Rs 80,000 through a cheque and also submitted a requisition for a new cheque book, according to the complaint.He said he returned home in a minibus around noon. While he was waiting at the gate to enter, a man approached him, snatched his small bag and fled, said the victim.The bag is said to have contained Rs 80,000 in cash, a cheque book and other personal belongings. The complainant told police that due to his age, he was unable to chase the robber.
