Mumbai: CBI has sent a letter to Malwani police asking them to hand over documents in the case of celebrity manager Disha Salian’s death. Last week, Bombay HC had directed registration of an FIR over Salian’s death at a Malad housing society on June 8, 2020, and had appointed a senior CBI officer to conduct the probe.“We have received a copy of the HC order. Accordingly, we have kept all case-related documents ready. A CBI officer is likely to collect them from us later this week. CBI has also sent us a letter in this regard,” said a senior police official.Mumbai police’s probe had concluded that Salian’s death was a suicide and there was no foul play involved. Alleging “suspicious circumstances”, Salian’s father had filed a petition before HC, through counsel Nilesh Ojha, asking for her death to be probed as a murder case. While pronouncing its judgment, HC had directed that nobody was to be named as an accused in the FIR. “No one shall be treated as an accused unless and until there is suitable material against them,” the HC had directed.Salian (28) had worked with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence.
