Mumbai: As student protests across the country gain momentum, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (BMC-MARD) has released a letter of solidarity with the lakhs of NEET-UG and NEET-PG aspirants.In the open letter, addressed to PM Narendra Modi, the doctors said the repeated incidents of paper leaks, exam irregularities, and last-minute postponements “have eroded student confidence in the system and have caused academic, psychological, and financial hardship”.They noted that for several days, lakhs of students across the country have sought educational reforms through peaceful demonstrations and hunger strikes. “Their concerns deserve to be acknowledged through meaningful dialogue, clear communication, and timely action,” BMC-MARD said in the letter.Among other demands, one is establishment of an ‘accessible student support and response system’ which could be a transparent, and time-bound mechanism to address exam irregularities, unfair practices, technical issues, and grievances with prompt response and resolution by the concerned authorities.
