Zoho targets cloud development platform market with AI coding integration

Chennai: Software-as-a-service company Zoho aims to grow its share of the cloud development market by updating its platform with AI coding assistants. It has added features to integrate with popular AI coding tools like Anthropic’s Claude and Cursor. These AI assistants convert everyday language into software code, becoming one of the most useful applications of generative AI today. On Wednesday, Zoho launched its cloud development platform equipped with AI workspace integrations, AI agents, and automated workflows. The platform is designed for a wide range of users from enterprise IT teams and custom development firms to entrepreneurs and freelance developers, said Anand Nergunam, Zoho’s global vice president of revenue growth.“We are actively working with tech partners and enterprises worldwide. This is positioned as a solution for the global developer community, with India being a key market for our Catalyst platform,” he said. “While existing Zoho customers are a natural fit, the platform works well with outside tools and is focused on the broader developer ecosystem.”“Advanced AI coding assistants have transformed how quickly applications are created. Today, developers can generate code rapidly, but getting that code live and running smoothly remains a major hurdle. They still struggle when they have to manually connect different parts such as user interface, servers, databases, security and launch processes,” Nergunam said. He noted that Catalyst stands out by offering an all-in-one, unified solution.According to the company’s release, the platform helps developers take an app straight from their AI coding assistant to a fully functional live environment. Developers can also host their work in the company’s India data centres to meet local data privacy rules. It is equally available in US and EU data centres for developers who need to follow strict regional compliance laws, the company said. The platform also offers a free programme for students.
