Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel began his week-long visit to the US and Canada with an interaction with the Gujarati diaspora in San Francisco, seeking to tap the community’s expertise and global networks to accelerate Gujarat’s emerging technology ecosystem.Patel is leading a delegation to the US and Canada to invite investors and industries to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2027. During his interaction with the diaspora, he said the state govt was working to build a bridge between Gujarati-origin talent in Silicon Valley and companies and industries in Gujarat.The CM said Gujarat was working towards becoming a global hub for new-age sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centres and biotechnology. These efforts, he said, were aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Gujarat’s own Viksit Gujarat 2047 roadmap.Patel invited the Gujarati community as well as business and industry leaders in San Francisco to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat summit and explore investment opportunities in the state.Members of the community raised questions about Gujarat’s development and expressed interest in the state’s growth across various sectors. Patel highlighted the contribution of Gujaratis in Silicon Valley to semiconductor technology, AI and innovation, and said their expertise could help Gujarat through knowledge sharing, technological collaboration and mentorship.The state govt also plans to leverage the diaspora’s global networks to create new investment and business opportunities and strengthen Gujarat’s innovation ecosystem, Patel said.
