Pune: Three men allegedly beat up a 44-year-old autorickshaw driver near Mandai Metro Station around 10pm on Thursday after he refused to take them on a short-distance trip.The autorickshaw driver, Vishal Kamble (44), a resident of Gokhalenagar, lodged a complaint with the Vishrambaug police on Friday.Senior inspector Navnath Jagtap said, “The trio approached Kamble and asked him to drive the autorickshaw to a nearby spot. However, the autorickshaw driver refused. This led to an argument. The trio beat him for almost five minutes, leaving him bleeding profusely. Kamble then approached the police, who took him to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment.” Jagtap added, “The incident has been captured by a CCTV camera in Mandai and we are trying to ascertain the identity of the three men.”
