Panaji: Panaji police have registered a case against two representatives of the company carrying out repair and renovation work at Kala Academy, after a worker connected to the project died by suicide.The complaint was filed by Virendra Prasad, a resident of Kalyan, Thane. He said his brother, Banti Prasad, had been engaged by Techton Buildcons Pvt Ltd, based in Andheri, Mumbai, for structural repair and renovation work at Kala Academy.According to the complaint, Banti worked under company representatives — Ashish Vadgama and Tousif (whose full name is not known). Virendra said his brother completed the work properly, but payments of Rs 45 lakh were not released.The complaint states that the unpaid dues caused Banti financial hardship and mental stress. He was found dead at Hotel Majestic in Porvorim on June 30.Police have issued notices to the accused. PSI Mandar Parab is investigating the case.
