Margao: Sanguem police on Wednesday arrested GFP functionaries Meshu D’Costa and Dattaraj Gauns Dessai in connection with a case registered against them for allegedly confronting police personnel inside the Sanguem police station last week.D’Costa, a member of GFP’s political affairs committee and the Sanguem Municipal Council, had been booked along with Gauns Dessai, the party’s joint secretary, and advocate Viraj Nagekar under BNS sections relating to assault on a public servant, obstruction of duty, criminal intimidation and unlawful assembly.The case stems from D’Costa’s summons over the latching of the Sanguem PWD office, after which he arrived at the Sanguem police station with associates and confronted officers.
