Panaji: The “Ride of Pride” awareness rally organised by Goa police to commemorate the conferment of the prestigious President’s Police Colour on the force was flagged off by chief minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday.The rally will traverse different parts of Goa over the next few days, highlighting the achievements, dedication and commitment of the police force towards the people of the state.The contingent comprises six Bullet motorcycles and four four-wheelers representing the Pink Force, PCR van, anti-terrorist squad and district police.During the flag-off ceremony, Goa police conducted demonstrations showcasing its operational capabilities and professionalism, including a dog show by the Goa police dog unit, a mock drill by the anti-terrorist squad, a martial arts demonstration and a performance by the Goa police band. Sawant also launched the Goa Police Colour theme song.DGP Alok Kumar said the President’s Police Colour holds historic significance and is one of the highest institutional recognitions bestowed upon a police force. He said the honour recognises the courage, discipline, professionalism, distinguished service and commitment of generations of Goa police personnel who have served the state and the nation.Sawant congratulated Goa police on the honour and acknowledged the force’s dedication, professionalism and commitment to the safety and security of Goans. He extended his best wishes to all ranks on the achievement.Goa police appealed to the public to welcome the rally as it passes through their areas and participate in the celebration.
