Pune: The city is likely to see a gradual rise in daytime temperatures as widespread rainfall activity is unlikely over Maharashtra in the coming days, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).The Met department’s latest forecast issued on Wednesday puts Pune’s maximum temperature around 30°C for Thursday, rising to 31°C on Aug 28-29 and 32°C from Aug 30. Minimum temperatures are also expected to rise gradually from 22°C to 24°C by Aug 30-31.On Wednesday, maximum temperatures across the IMD’s Pune stations were around 28-30°C. Lohegaon recorded the highest maximum at 29.8°C, followed by Chinchwad at 29.9°C, Magarpatta at 29.4°C and Koregaon Park at 29.3°C.Rainfall remained trace to nil across most of the city. Till 5.30pm, Lohegaon recorded no rainfall, while Shivajinagar and NDA received 0.4mm and 0.5mm, respectively. Lavale recorded 2mm while Chinchwad and Koregaon Park recorded 0.5mm.IMD scientist SD Sanap said the current weather pattern was unlikely to bring a sustained spell of rain across the state. “With the rain activity remaining largely scattered, Pune could gradually become warmer over the next few days,” he said.IMD forecast also said Pune would remain partly cloudy, becoming generally cloudy towards the afternoon or evening, with very light to light rain likely. The forecast remains similar over the coming days, with no indication of a widespread wet spell.
