Mumbai: A 50-year-old biker from Virar, Aadesh Gaikar, suffered a head injury after a tree branch fell on him in Andheri (East) on Wednesday morning, police said.People who witnessed the incident, with the help of police, rushed Gaikar to Cooper Hospital. “Doctors at the hospital said Gaikar has been kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His condition is stable and is out of danger,” said a police officer.Police said Gaikar was riding his bike to his office in the Mogarpada locality from the Andheri East area when the branch broke and fell on his head. “As Andheri One Mobile police team was in the area, he was immediately taken to hospital,” said the officer.After the incident, emergency response teams were deployed at the location and the fallen branch was cleared. “Officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, BMC Garden Department, police, and BEST reached the spot and cleared the branches,” said the officer. Police said necessary steps were taken to remove the obstruction and prevent further risks to pedestrians and motorists in the area.
