Kolkata: A taxi driver has been booked for allegedly passing lewd remarks against two women and engaging in a scuffle after the duo protested against him urinating in a public place, close to the Greek Orthodox Church in Kalighat on Saturday.One of the victims is a 67-year-old senior citizen passenger from Netaji Nagar.When the senior citizen protested, the accused driver — instead of desisting — retaliated by making obscene remarks at her.The situation escalated when the driver confronted the woman directly, leading to a scuffle on the street as she attempted to resist his hostility and call for assistance.Another woman, who was passing by, came to her rescue. The victim approached the police later.Based on the woman’s formal statement, officers registered a case against the taxi driver. Senior police officers said efforts were underway to trace the accused man.
