PALGHAR: A fresh twist has emerged in the alleged assault of a receptionist at Relief Hospital in Palghar, with the injured Govinda participants whose treatment triggered the dispute filing a written complaint against the doctor at Palghar police station.A case has already been registered against 17 people, including Shiv Sena district chief Kundan Sankhe, in connection with the alleged assault.In their complaint, the Govinda participants alleged that although they had suffered only minor injuries, they were deliberately kept in the ICU and were not discharged despite repeatedly requesting the doctor to release them.They further alleged that the doctor ignored their requests, following which they sought the intervention of Sankhe. The participants claimed that unnecessary treatment was continued despite there being no medical requirement for it.The complainants have demanded that a case be registered against the doctor over the alleged conduct.Palghar MLA Rajendra Gavit, along with senior Shiv Sena functionaries, party workers and members of the Govinda group, gathered outside Palghar police station in support of the complaint.Gavit warned that the group would stage a sit-in outside the police station until a case was registered against the doctor.The latest complaint comes amid the ongoing controversy over the alleged assault of the hospital receptionist and the case registered against Sankhe and others.
