Gandhinagar: Gandhinagar: Two officers of the revenue department – a superintendent of land records posted in Mehsana and a land records inspector posted in Bhavnagar — have been suspended by the revenue department. The disciplinary action has been taken after several complaints of irregularities were received against the two.Bikisha Patel, a Class I officer posted as superintendent of land records in Mehsana and K N Pandya, a Class II land records inspector posted in Bhavnagar-West have been suspended in separate orders issued by the revenue department. Sources said that CM Bhupendra Patel, who also holds the revenue portfolio, ordered disciplinary action against the two officers.According to the suspension order of Patel, issued on Sunday, Sep 6, a state-level inspection team from the land records administration conducted a surprise inspection atoffices at Mehsana and Kadi.The inspection reportedly pointed to shortcomings in the overall functioning and efficiency of the offices, as well as issues concerning the processing of pending applications and the prescribed procedures for disposal of work. The order said the lapses attributed to Patel were considered serious and that the matter warranted disciplinary action.The suspension order of Pandya issued on Sep 5, Saturday, said an inspection from the Bhavnagar district collector’s office found deficiencies and irregularities in the overall functioning of the offices.Both officials have been suspended under relevant provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1971, the suspension orders said.
