Pune: The Hadapsar police on Friday registered a case against a medical practitioner attached to a private hospital for allegedly threatening a deceased patient’s relative’s friend with a licensed pistol during a dispute over a hospital bill.The incident took place on the hospital premises on Thursday night when the complainant visited the doctor’s cabin seeking a concession in the treatment bill.Police sub-inspector Ratnadeep Birajdar said the complainant had accompanied his friend, whose mother died while undergoing treatment at the hospital earlier that day.“The complainant alleged that the doctor refused to reduce the bill and threatened him with dire consequences by brandishing his licensed firearm,” Birajdar said.The accused has been booked under the relevant provisions of the Arms Act and has been summoned for questioning, police said.
