Ashadha Gupt Navratri 2026: Significance
Navratri is one of the most significant festivals of Hindus. Navratri is celebrated for nine long days and devotees worship Goddess Durga during these days. Gupt Navratri occurs twice a year in the months of Magha and Ashadha, while the main Navratri festival is celebrated during Kartik and Chaitra Month. During Gupt Navratri, the nine forms of Mahavidhya are worshipped with immense devotion and purity. Gupt Navratri is not widely recognized, it is regarded as the most powerful time for individuals who engage in Mantra and Tantra Sadhana, making it an exceptionally potent period for invoking Goddess Durga. Practitioners perform various puja rituals, including performing hawan, observing fasts, and refraining from food and water for nine consecutive days to honor and please the Goddess. Maa Durga is revered for nine long days and nights during the Navratri period. During this time, devotees pray to Durga Mata in hopes of receiving the Goddess’ blessings.
Ashadha Gupt Navratri 2026 : Puja Rituals
1. Before beginning the puja rites, get up early and take a holy bath.2. Place an idol of Maa Durga on a wooden board.3. Place a coconut atop a kalash that has been filled with water.4. After placing the Kalash in front of the idol, do Ghatsthapana.5. Now present red hibiscus flowers to Maa Durga and light a diya with desi ghee and incense sticks.6. Adorn Maa Durga with shringar items and offer sweets, fruits, and dried fruits.7. Now recite many vedic mantras devoted to Maa Durga in order to invoke the idol.8. Seek Maa Durga’s blessings by reciting Durga Saptashati.
