CHENNAI: Political sparks flew in the Assembly on Friday as Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, demanding immediate action on alleged corruption files sitting on the Chief Minister’s desk.Taking a satirical dig at the Chief Minister’s delay in acting on available evidence, Stalin asked if he was waiting for an “astrologer’s nod” to open the files. The jab was a direct reference to the Chief Minister’s statement a couple of days ago, where he claimed to hold detailed reports on three government departments and promised to open them at an “appropriate time.”Stalin’s stinging remarks triggered a heated war of words in the House. Intervening amidst the uproar, Ministers Aadhav Arjuna and A. Rajmohan stoutly defended the Chief Minister, assuring the Assembly that the government would act decisively after completing due process.
