Chennai: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized ₹4.32 lakh in unaccounted cash during a surprise raid at the integrated checkpost at Elavur, near Gummidipoondi, in Tiruvallur district in the early hours of Wednesday. An investigation was launched against officials and staff attached to the checkpost.The checkpost at Elavur is a major entry point for commercial vehicles travelling between Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.A team led by Tiruvallur district DVAC DSP Jayakumar held an inspection at the check post unit and two entry gates at around 2am. During the operation, officers recovered ₹4.32 lakh in unaccounted cash from the premises. The money was seized, and officials and employees attached to the check post were questioned.
