Cops raid liquor party at farmhouse, 21 booked

Surat: Dumas police raided an alleged liquor party at a farmhouse in the city during Independence Day security patrolling and registered an FIR against 21 people, including eight women.Police seized valuables worth around Rs1.04 crore, including nine cars, 24 mobile phones, liquor bottles and other items from the farmhouse.According to police, the party was organised to celebrate the birthday of a woman makeup artist from the city. Unlike a conventional gathering, the party allegedly involved a board game called ‘Black Out‘, in which players rolled dice and performed drinking-related tasks in accordance with the spaces they landed on.The tasks reportedly included instructions such as “youngest will drink“, “tallest will drink“, “drink vodka”, “take a shot”, “finish your drink”, “ladies drink”, etc.ACP Sweta Daniels said police teams were conducting heightened patrolling as part of Independence Day vigilance when they received information about a liquor party being held at Bapuji Ni Wadi.Acting on the tip-off, police raided Jashn Villa, where the 21 people were allegedly found under the influence of alcohol. Police recovered different brands of whisky, vodka, beer and gin, along with cigarettes and cold drinks.Police are now investigating the source of the liquor and whether similar parties have been organised at the farmhouse in the past.An FIR has been registered in connection with the alleged consumption and possession of liquor, along with other applicable charges.
