Ahmedabad: A 30-year-old woman has approached the Women Police Ahmedabad West, alleging prolonged mental and physical harassment by her husband and in-laws. She has also accused her husband of having an extramarital relationship.According to the complaint filed on Friday night, the woman said she got married in Dec 2020. She said her parents gave gold jewellery and household articles at the time of the marriage. After moving into her matrimonial home in Bapunagar, her mother-in-law allegedly began taunting and humiliating her, including making remarks related to dowry and demanding additional articles.The complainant alleged that she was repeatedly insulted, which led her to seek treatment for depression in 2022. She further alleged that her husband took control of her salary after she started a work-from-home job.She also alleged that she was pressured to terminate a pregnancy and warned that she would be thrown out of the house with her child if she refused. According to the complaint, she underwent a medical termination of pregnancy at a hospital in Feb, claiming the decision was made under coercion and fear rather than voluntarily.
