Ahmedabad: A three-day ‘Future Youth Leaders Bootcamp’, organised by My Bharat–Ahmedabad under Union ministry of youth affairs and sports, in collaboration with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), commenced on Tuesday. The programme will continue till Sep 3.The inaugural session was chaired by BAOU vice-chancellor Ami Upadhyay. District youth officer Pritesh Kumar N Zaveri, director of student development department Nisha Joshi, CPS provisional national trainer and motivational speaker Sayam Jain, CPS zonal trainer and life coach Chetna Singhvi, and CPS zonal trainer Nidhi Salecha were also present.Addressing the gathering, Upadhyay emphasised the importance of developing the inner potential and leadership qualities of young people. She said, “A true leader is one who can provide leadership to others.” She also highlighted the crucial role of youth in building a drug-free India.Speaking about BAOU’s drug-free campus, she said the university takes pride in maintaining a completely substance-free environment. No gutka packets or other intoxicating substances are found on the campus, she noted, describing it as an example that other educational institutions can follow.The bootcamp aims to empower young participants by strengthening their leadership skills, confidence and sense of social responsibility.
