Chennai: CISF personnel recovered three live rounds and a magazine from the hand baggage of a woman passenger during security screening at Terminal 1 of Chennai airport on Saturday. The passenger, who was travelling with her family to Kochi, could not produce documents or authorisation for carrying the ammunition.During pre-embarkation screening of domestic passengers, CISF personnel noticed a suspicious image in the woman’s hand baggage and referred it for physical inspection. Security personnel found three live rounds and a magazine in the bag. The woman was scheduled to travel to Kochi on IndiGo flight 6E-5394, which was scheduled to depart at 8am.CISF personnel questioned the passenger about the ammunition and asked her to produce valid documents or authorisation for it. As she failed to produce any such documents, CISF personnel handed her over to the local police along with the recovered ammunition and magazine.Police took the woman and the recovered items into custody for further investigation.
