Man gets 10 years jail for abducting, sexually assaulting girl
Villupuram: Viluppuram mahila court sentenced a 28-year-old man to ten years of imprisonment for abducting and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl under the pretext of marriage. The criminal case dates back to July 7, 2020, when the survivor’s father lodged a complaint at the Thiruvennainallur police station.According to the prosecution, the accused lured the 16-year-old girl with false promises of love and marriage. He coaxed her away from her home and kept her confined at a relative’s house for ten days, where he repeatedly subjected her to sexual assault. The girl was rescued, and the accused was booked under the Pocso Act.
