New Delhi: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detected a country-made pistol along with a live cartridge during security screening at Mandi House metro station Thursday, preventing the prohibited weapon from entering the metro network.“At 10:11am, the weapon was detected during the routine frisking of a passenger identified as a resident of Uttar Pradesh. CISF personnel immediately secured the individual and informed the Delhi Metro Rail Police,” said a CISF official. He added that Delhi Police personnel reached the station and took over the passenger and the recovered weapon.Officials said teams from Delhi Police special cell and crime team also arrived at the spot to conduct a detailed investigation. “Further legal proceedings are being carried out by Delhi Police. The incident underscores the vigilance and professionalism of CISF personnel in ensuring the safety and security of commuters across the Delhi metro network,” said an official.
