Pune: The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has declared the results for the second attempt of MHT-CET 2026 for physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM) group, conducted for admissions to engineering, pharmacy and agriculture courses.Twelve students, including two girls, secured a perfect 100 percentile. Ten were from Maharashtra and two from other states. The examination was held between May 12 and May 20 in 11 sessions. Of the 3.21 lakh registered candidates, 2.85 lakh appeared, recording an attendance of 88.57%.The computer-based test was conducted at 187 centres across 36 districts of Maharashtra. This year marked the first implementation of the two-attempt system for MHT-CET PCM, with candidates’ higher percentile from either attempt being considered for admissions.Among those who appeared, 1,74,698 were boys, 1,10,413 were girls and 10 were transgender candidates. Unlike previous years, no examination centres were set up outside the state.Of the 12 candidates who achieved 100 percentile, three are from Pune district. The students from the state who secured perfect scores are Aditya Torve (Pune), Atharv Anil Ghorpade (Pune), Mohak Sandeep Chawale (Chandrapur), Ipshita Hemant Nikale (Mumbai Suburban), Nachiket Kisan Yewale (Raigad), Harshvardhan Yuvaraj Patil (Mumbai Suburban), Pratha Prashant Agarwal (Wardha), Shabbar Ghatiwala (Bhandara), Sujal Santosh Jadhav (Pune) and Aditya Satish Wankhede (Bhandara).The two out-of-state candidates who scored 100 percentile are Maan from Sonipat in Haryana, and Pranjal Sharma from Katni, Madhya Pradesh. Two girls are among the 12 toppers.A CET Cell official said, “Candidates who appeared for both attempts of MHT CET will be considered for admission based on the higher percentile obtained in either of the two examinations. The move was introduced this year to provide students with an additional opportunity, similar to the JEE (Main) pattern.”The official also urged students not to confuse percentile with percentage. “MHT CET results are declared in percentile.
