Chennai: A three-year-old girl was killed after being hit by a two-wheeler while playing outside her house near Chengalpet on Tuesday.The victim, identified as Magizhini, daughter of Jayakumar, was playing near her residence on Roshini Amman Koil Street at Irungundrapalli when a passing two-wheeler knocked her down.She suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the Chengalpet Government Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.Based on a complaint lodged by the child’s parents, Chengalpet taluk police registered a case and launched an investigation.Following the incident, more than 100 relatives and local residents staged a road blockade near the Chengalpet court on the Chengalpet–Madurantakam Road, demanding the arrest of the two bikers involved in the accident.Police officials held talks with the protesters and assured them that those responsible would be arrested, following which the agitation was withdrawn.
