MUMBAI: Western Railway’s suburban services were disrupted on Friday morning after an overhead equipment (OHE) failure between Dadar and Churchgate was followed by a point failure at Churchgate station, resulting in train cancellations and delays of 15-20 minutes. The OHE fault occurred between Dadar and Churchgate from 6 am to 7.22 am, disrupting train operations during the morning rush hour. Several suburban services had to be cancelled during the disruption. Soon after restoration of the OHE, a point failure developed at Churchgate at around 8 am, further affecting train movements.Railway officials said both faults have since been rectified and operations have resumed. However, suburban trains continue to run 15-20 minutes behind schedule as the railway works to restore the timetable and clear the backlog of delayed services.
