Panaji: After another leopard attack was reported on Saturday night, the residents of Varchawada, Arambol, are planning to approach the Goa Human Rights Commission, accusing the forest department of not doing enough to help them.A leopard was captured on the CCTV camera around 1.30am on Saturday climbing to the first floor of a guest house, attacking a dog and escaping into the forest.Guest house owner Ulhas Naik said the attack has added to their worries, as there have been similar incidents in the past few weeks where the leopard killed four dogs and a calf.Naik said they would approach the human rights commission to issue directions to the forest department to take steps to contain the movement of the wild animal into human habitats.Declining the allegations, range forest officer Harish Mahale told TOI that a trap was laid on Monday evening. “We require live bait to catch an animal. A villager has agreed to provide a pet. Our official will go there late evening to put the bait,“ he said.
