96 diarrhoea, 60 typhoid cases registered in Ahmedabad in first 5 days of July
The department collected 9,029 water samples from various areas for chlorine testing during this period

Ahmedabad: The civic body’s health department released the city’s epidemic statistics on Tuesday. According to the data, 96 cases of diarrhoea and vomiting, 60 cases of typhoid, and nine cases of jaundice were registered in the city in the first five days of July. Additionally, two cases of malaria were recorded during the same period.In this period, the department collected 9,029 water samples from various areas for chlorine testing. Out of these, two water samples had no chlorine. Apart from this, 1,370 water samples were collected from different areas for bacteriological testing, of which four samples were declared unfit.According to civic data, 3,230 cases of diarrhoea and vomiting, 994 cases of typhoid, 373 cases of jaundice, 159 cases of dengue, 117 cases of malaria, 14 cases of falciparum malaria, and two cases of chikungunya were registered in the city this year.
