When he did not respond after his shift, colleagues found his duty room bolted from the inside. The door was broken open around 9am, and he was found unconscious there.Police said a cannula had been inserted into his left hand around 10pm on Saturday at his request by a technical assistant. From the room, police seized a syringe, empty medicine ampoules, a diary and a three-page suicide note from a bag belonging to the victim.“The note states that he was taking the extreme step voluntarily. It also mentions that he had been in a relationship with a woman doctor working at the same hospital for the past two years. His parents were opposed to their marriage because they belonged to different castes. The woman doctor is stated to be from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh,” a senior police officer said.
