Panaji: Within a day of being appointed head of the Congress party’s minority department, Nazir Khan took charge in the presence of state president Girish Chodankar.On Sunday, Congress suspended its state minority department chairman, Wasim Khan, for indiscipline and anti-party activities. Wasim protested during Venugopal’s visit, which the BJP’s social media team latched onto to portray Congress as anti-minority.Chodankar said that BJP may have instigated Wasim’s public protest.This is Nazir Khan’s second stint as the minority department convener for the party.
