Rhiya Ahir blocked a police van carrying detained protesters during a demonstration in Mumbai last week
Mumbai: Model Rhiya Ahir, whose photo became a defining image of the CJP protests in the city last week after she single-handedly forced police to release detainees from a van following a 40-minute standoff, filed a complaint with MIDC police in Andheri on Monday alleging that she has since got death threats and deepfakes of her have been circulated. She said she has been subjected to intense cyberbullying and targeted misogynistic abuse. No FIR was lodged but police initiated an inquiry and recorded her statement. Ahir had earlier filed a complaint with police’s cyber cell.
