Dr Dileep Mavalankar, former director of IIPH-G and a noted public health expert, has been awarded the Fellowship by Distinction of the Faculty of Public Health at the Royal College of Physicians, UK. The honour was conferred at a formal ceremony held in London in June. The faculty of public health (FPH), UK, is the country’s premier professional body for public health specialists. Dr Mavalankar was one of only two Indians to receive the prestigious recognition this year.
