CHENNAI: Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at two locations in Chennai on Tuesday morning. The searches were carried out at the residence of a retired Regional Transport Office (RTO) Deputy Commissioner in Teynampet and at the house of a businessman in Padmanabha Colony, Kaladipet, near Thiruvottiyur.The search operations began at around 8 a.m. ED officials, accompanied by personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), entered both premises and conducted searches in the presence of the occupants.The retired government official and the businessman were present at their respective residences during the operation.The ED did not disclose the reason for the searches or the case under which the action was initiated. Officials also did not reveal whether any documents, electronic devices or other materials were seized during the operation.Further details of the searches were awaited as the investigation was in progress.
